Elle has joined the cast of Clay Jeter’s sci-fi Film “Io“, a project that was developed at the Sundance Institute’s Writers Lab and Sundance Catalyst Forum.

The Film’s Plot:

“Sam (Elle Fanning), a teenage girl, is one of the last people on a post-cataclysmic Earth. With the final shuttle scheduled to leave the planet, she must decide whether to journey to the launch point and join the rest of humanity or remain on Earth, a castaway in the only home she has ever known.”

Elle Fanning has been cast as Frankenstein author Mary Shelley in a film with the author’s name as the title. The romantic drama will be directed by Haifaa al-Mansour, the first female director out of Saudi Arabia, with Amy Baer producing via her Gidden Media banner.

The film summary

‘Mary Shelley‘ tells the story of Percy Shelley’s passionate love affair with Mary Wollstonecraft, who would later write her famous novel Frankenstein as Mary Shelley.
